Steve, the above Moon-Mars progressed opposition might be a better match to the people’s reaction to the war rather than the war itself. As the war was started by the President, I would expect to see measurements with the Sun involved as a better match to the war’s outbreak. Secondary progressions, while valuable, are generally lower on the predictive hierarchy compared to other predictive methods like time lord techniques, directions, and profections. I mention this because with enough tinkering many find it easy to justify events based on measurements found after the fact; the better exercise would be to predict the outbreak of war in advance.

Comments. I use both solar arc and primary directions. I also use direct and converse methods. The direct solar arc Sun square Mars direction is accurate to within 7 hours for the war start. In my rectification research, I often find the pair of dates computed for the same direction, both direct and converse, form bookends to a series of events; or similar themed events. This means I am circling 27-Jul-2026 to watch.

Three other notes on primary directions. (1) The participating direction is the dexter square of Mars. Dexter aspects are considered more potent than sinister aspects. (2) The degree position of the dexter square of Mars is 21PI22, the same position as the directed Sun in the first direct solar arc computed for 27-Feb-2026. This shows the mathematical linkage. (3) On 29-Mar-2026 transiting Mars will occupy this same degree of the dexter square of Mars (21PI22) which is capable of intensifying the effect of the direction.

So, looking ahead, I am keeping my eye on 29-Mar-2026 and 27-Jul-2026 to see what unfolds.

In the predictive hierarchy, solar returns fall below time lord techniques such as Abu Ma‘shar’s System of Distributors and Partners, Firdaria, and Zodiacal Releasing. Solar returns are most closely linked to annual projections that generate an annual time lord, useful to help narrow the focus of the return. I mention this because, when rectifying the Regulus USA National Horoscope, I did not consult a single solar return. So while solar returns can help flesh out themes for the year identified by higher time lord systems, they are not absolutely necessary for predicting national outcomes. In fact, this is the first solar return for the USA I have ever judged — publicly or privately. Predicting social movements within American culture is possible by applying Abu Maʿshar’s system of Distributors and Partners—also known as “directing through the bounds”—to key significators in the Regulus USA National Horoscope. Moon Distributor: Venus/Scorpio — May 19, 2020

One can also direct the Moon through the bounds to derive another set of social movements. In my post on Joe Biden, I link his presidency to the directed Moon in the bound of Venus/Scorpio between May 19, 2020, and November 2, 2024. The Moon’s active Distributor for that time was Venus/Scorpio—an identical planet/sign placement found in Biden’s horoscope—signifying his role as ‘Comforter-in-Chief.’ This role was elevated to the national stage as Americans sought emotional empathy during the 2020 COVID pandemic.

Starting just seven days before the murder of George Floyd, the Venus/Scorpio Distributor also brought concerns of socially oppressed individuals to the surface under the banner of social justice. A variant of this theme was cancel culture, which sought to stamp out any perceived slights against social justice warriors and their constituents.

Moon Distributor: Mercury/Scorpio — November 2, 2024

So what happened on November 2, 2024, when Venus/Scorpio handed her Distribution over to Mercury/Scorpio? In his May 14 Breaking History podcast episode, Vulgarians at the Gate: How Censors Lost the Culture War, Eli Lake proposes that Trump’s Madison Square Garden political rally on October 27, 2024, marked a change in tone. At that event, comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made controversial remarks, referring to Puerto Rico as a "floating island of garbage." Be careful here—this is not a descriptor for either left- or right-wing politics. Joe Biden, with Mercury in Scorpio mirrored in his natal chart, participated in this media cycle by characterizing Trump’s supporters as “garbage.” Trump himself drove the garbage truck.

Ahead of the 2024 election, I thought that if the Democrats won, the new Distributor would manifest as higher transaction taxes on financial market transactions because Scorpio is opposed to Taurus, whose glyph of the bull puts the ‘bull’ in ‘bull markets'. For the Republicans, it would manifest via Trump’s ‘I am your retribution’ campaign pledge. So far the most impactful retribution are tariffs which extract a pound of flesh from American importers. The 4th edition of A Rectification Manual (“ARM”), published on March 26, 2023, added Zodiacal Releasing from the Lot of Spirit (“ZRS”) as a time lord technique. ZRS Level 1 periods and selected Level 2 subperiods are presented alongside Firdaria subperiods in a side-by-side format for ease of comparison.

While ZRS often identifies key chronological stages in a person’s life (“like chapters in a book”), so too does Firdaria—not to mention Directing through the Bounds. To date, the traditional astrology revival has reintroduced Firdaria through Robert Zoller’s translation of Bonatti’s Book of Astronomy. Zodiacal Releasing and Directing through the Bounds were reintroduced by Robert Schmidt under the auspices of Project Hindsight.

Of these three techniques, ZRS has garnered the lion’s share of recent social media attention, due in part to the accidental circumstance that Robert Zoller’s teaching declined prior to his death in 2000, and because contemporary Hellenistic astrologers currently maintain a larger social media footprint.

In ARM, I advocate avoiding a narrow focus on a few favorite techniques in favor of embracing a richer toolkit of predictive methods. While applying multiple techniques can sometimes yield the uncomfortable effect of clashing predictions, I do not believe that—at this juncture in the traditional astrology revival—we are yet wise enough to establish a definitive predictive hierarchy.

The purpose of this post is to demonstrate how Firdaria and Primary Directions provided a cleaner and more accurate timer of Donald Trump’s political fortunes than Zodiacal Releasing from Spirit.

ARM 4th edition proposed a rectification of 9:42:46 AM EDT, ASC 15LE59’24” which is closer to the initial A-rated birth time of 9:51 AM, from mother’s memory, courtesy of Astrodatabank. It differs from the AA-rated birth time of 10:54 AM, ASC 29LE58 which appears on the current ADB record.

ZRS L1 and L2 periods since the start of L1 Cancer

The backbone of Zodiacal Releasing (ZR) is the prioritization of higher levels of career activity when the profected Lot of Spirit reaches signs that are angular from the Lot of Fortune (LOF). With the Lot of Fortune in Aquarius, the angular houses relative to LOF are Aquarius (1st), Taurus (4th), Leo (7th), and Scorpio (10th).

As chronicled on The Astrology Podcast, Trump was in a Level 2 Gemini subperiod (May 7, 2016 – December 28, 2017) at the time of the 2016 Presidential election. This appeared inconsistent with an electoral victory because Gemini is not angular from the LOF; in fact, it is cadent—or “falling away”—from Taurus, which is angular and therefore supposed to represent a stronger house for career highlights.

The upcoming Level 1 Leo period, beginning April 20, 2025, was indeed predicted to produce high levels of career activity. However, at the time discussions were made in 2016, this prediction seemed too far off to be relevant, especially since Trump would be 78 in 2024—seemingly too old for another presidential bid.

Firdaria periods since 2009

By contrast, Firdaria has demonstrated a better match to Trump’s political fortunes. According to delineation, the North Node in the 11th house of friends, groups, and political alliances bonifies the house by predicting an increase in those affairs. The North Node is co-present with the Ascendant ruler, the Sun, which forges a connection between Trump and political alliances. Moreover, Trump’s birth date follows a solar eclipse, whose conjunctional degree of 8° Gemini 48′ also falls in the 11th house.

By delineation, the South Node in most cases signifies the opposite of the North Node. In Trump’s chart, it carries the added complication of a close conjunction with the Moon. Bottom line: Trump won the 2016 Presidential election during the North Node Firdaria period, lost the 2020 election during the South Node period, and announced his 2024 Presidential bid on November 15, 2022—just two days before the end of his Sun–Sun Firdaria period.

Primary Directions

During Trump’s interregnum, he faced numerous lawsuits. These included efforts by Democrats to hold him responsible for the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot in order to render him ineligible for the 2024 election. On July 1, 2024, the Supreme Court handed Trump a victory by ruling in his favor on questions of Presidential immunity—effectively ending those legal challenges. As I will show next, this event was timed by the primary direction of Jupiter to the Ascendant degree.

First, a word on Jupiter. I assign Jupiter as the Victor of the Horoscope. Jupiter receives three points for bound rulership in Stage I of Victor testing: it rules the bounds of the Lot of Fortune, the Lot of Spirit, and the Prenatal Syzygy. This is the highest score —3 out of 7—and no other planet ties Jupiter. Moreover, I have observed that for nativities following eclipses, the bound ruler of the Prenatal Syzygy tends to carry more weight in Victor scoring than a single point might suggest.

What does Jupiter signify for Trump? Jupiter in Libra reflects an egalitarian philosophy; however, because Jupiter is retrograde, we get the opposite. Jupiter’s actual behavior replaces egalitarianism with judicial militancy—Jupiter in Libra retrograde becomes the functional equivalent of Jupiter in Aries. This delineation can be developed further: Mars in Leo in the 1st house rules Trump’s reimagined Jupiter-in-Aries in the 9th. That is, Trump’s self-styled role as sheriff (Mars ruling the 9th of law) governs the judiciary (i.e., functional Jupiter-in-Aries in the 9th). Trump demands that the judiciary implement the law as he sees fit.

I first published this delineation of Jupiter in the 4th edition of A Rectification Manual, dated March 23, 2023 (pp. 22–23), in advance of the following primary direction sequence:

• October 5, 2023: Trump’s lawyers requested that the classified documents trial be delayed until after the November 2024 election.

• October 5, 2023: Trump’s lawyers filed a motion to dismiss the federal election case, citing presidential immunity.

• April 25, 2024: The Supreme Court heard arguments in Trump v. United States on election interference and presidential immunity.

• May 2, 2024: New York Times op-ed: “Trump Embraces Lawlessness, but in the Name of a Higher Law.”

• July 1, 2024: The Supreme Court ruled that former Presidents have immunity for official acts.

The first two events align within 24 hours of the first primary direction. The last three events bracket the second primary direction, falling between 11 and 56 days of its exactitude. The ability of two separate primary directions—computed under different latitude assumptions—to anchor two corresponding sets of events is an innovation I originally named the Primary Direction Sequence in ARM 1st edition (2007). ARM demonstrates dozens of examples, with this case for Trump serving as a valid out-of-sample test of the Primary Direction Sequence for the proposed rectification of Donald Trump.

Mundane Connections: Wiring Trump to the Nation

There are multiple connections between Trump’s horoscope and the USA. In this section, I will focus on two dynamic connections relevant exclusively to the 2024 Presidential election campaign.

Mercury/Cancer

Common to the horoscopes of Donald Trump and the Regulus USA National Horoscope is Mercury placed in the sign of Cancer. During 2021/2022 there was a series of Mercury-Ascendant primary directions in the Regulus USA National Horoscope that timed the creation of Trump’s Truth Social media platform and Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, now X.

By delineation, how are these events a match to the set of Mercury–Ascendant primary directions?

For the Regulus USA National Horoscope, Mercury in Cancer is retrograde and functions like Mercury in Capricorn, which is a conservative political placement. In America is Born, I also delineate Mercury in Capricorn as the methodical application of industry responsible for the successful detonation of atomic weapons over Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the close of World War II, timed by Mercury’s primary direction to the Ascendant degree by conjunction.

As the USA transitioned to the Cold War, fears of Communist infiltration became intertwined with nuclear fears (e.g., the execution of the Rosenbergs) during the McCarthy era. The best summation of this political strand is The Paranoid Style in American Politics by Richard Hofstadter, written after Barry Goldwater’s unsuccessful 1964 Presidential bid. In that campaign, Goldwater advocated for tactical use of nuclear weapons against Communist enemies, a position considered too extreme for Americans at the time.

I am already meandering here, reflecting an attempt to write about an afflicted Mercury in Cancer in the USA National Horoscope. But here are the points I want to hammer home:

• Mercury in Cancer for the USA is a populist but conservative political signature.

• It is tied to nuclear weapons and the fears of the McCarthy era.

• In contemporary political parlance, it is tied to the phrase “going nuclear” as a conservative-styled, take-no-prisoners attack method.

Some political commentators observe that the current political climate bears similarities to the McCarthy era. From a USA mundane perspective, the above Mercury partner directions are responsible for this trend.

That Mercury in Cancer retrograde yields conservative politics is confirmed by a Gallup poll conducted May 1-23, 2024, which showed a low in Americans’ liberal self-identification on social issues in 2021 and a two-year increase in conservative self-identification reaching the highest conservative ranking since 2012 by 2023. Gains in conservative self-identification reversed in 2024 but remain above the 2021 low.

With Mars in Virgo as the active Ascendant Distributor for these Mercury partner directions, Mars adds themes of:

• Increased gym participation and extreme sports activities

• Revival of U.S. Army and military logistics

• Expansion of hard rock mining and other extractive resource projects on federal lands

• Conflict with Latin American immigrants

These Mars themes extend Mercury’s topical range.

The circle is completed with the creation of two conservative social media platforms: Truth Social and X, which during the 2024 Presidential election campaign flooded the zone with themes of reclaiming masculinity, military prowess, oil well drilling, and an anti-immigrant message.

As owner of X, Elon Musk endorsed Trump for President following the unsuccessful assassination attempt on Trump’s life on July 13, 2024, in Butler, PA. Musk’s embrace of Trump as a Presidential candidate recalls Musk’s earlier defense of Trump as an unfair target of media censure following the January 8, 2021, Twitter ban. That ban triggered Musk’s decision to buy Twitter.

Bottom line: Trump and the USA are linked via Mercury in Cancer in both horoscopes. The American shift toward conservatism on social issues timed both the formation of Truth Social and Musk’s revamp of Twitter into X. Both platforms helped steer political dialogue in a more conservative direction, to the benefit of Trump.

Lunar Nodes and the Eclipse Cycle

A second mundane factor that raised Trump’s natal horoscope to the level of national prominence was a link to the Lunar Nodes. From July 12, 2023, to January 29, 2025, the North Node transited Aries and the South Node, Libra.

There is a direct link between the sign of Libra and the liberalism of the American political left. For the 2024 Presidential campaign, Democratic nominee Kamala Harris’ Sun is positioned at 27° Libra 48′, with her Prenatal Syzygy at 12° Libra 26′. As the South Node diminishes, American liberal issues and politics diminished during the South Node transit of Libra.

Attacks against corporate DEI initiatives first “counted coup” in June 2024 with Tractor Supply Company’s termination of DEI policies, quickly followed by John Deere, Harley-Davidson, Ford, and others. In the political landscape, Kamala Harris’ peak poll numbers occurred within a week of a South Node solar eclipse on October 2, 2024 located at 10° Libra 03′ in the same bound as her Prenatal Syzygy.

To Trump’s benefit was the conclusion of the North Node Aries transit. Since the Nodes move backward, the transit ended with the first six degrees of Aries, assigned to the bound of Jupiter in Aries. The North Node entered the bound of Jupiter/Aries on October 8, 2024 just six days after the solar eclipse on Harris’ Prenatal Syzygy. Trump’s poll numbers surged after October 8 and continued unabated through the Presidential election. The North Node left the bound of Jupiter/Aries on January 29, 2025 just after his inauguration on January 20, 2025.

The Antiochus/Porphyry model identifies Jupiter in Aries as Trump’s functional victor (Jupiter in Libra retrograde acting like Jupiter in Aries). Linkage between Trump’s victor and the transiting North Node in the bound of Jupiter in Aries is the second mundane factor that lifted up Trump’s style of judicial militarism at the expense of Democratic liberalism.

Venus as Victor of the Horoscope

The victor of the horoscope is Venus in Scorpio. For the rectified horoscope, Venus rules the bounds of the Ascendant, Midheaven, Moon, and Lot of Spirit. As my 2025 study Expanded Factor Analysis of the Antiochus/Porphyry Model demonstrates, whenever a planet rules four of the seven possible significators considered in Stage I victor selection, it is the victor in 100% of cases.

Delineation of Venus/Scorpio

Venus’ solar phase is combust, just past the superior conjunction with the Sun. From a moral perspective, medieval astrological theory assigned a favorable moral quality to planets at superior conjunction because, at this point in their solar phase, they were farthest from the Earth and closest to God. For natal delineation, it means planets at or near superior conjunction yield themes with favorable moral qualities that are lifted up in the native’s life.

What type of Venusian themes are lifted up? For Biden, Venus in Scorpio - the sign of her detriment - bodes ill for the quality of Venusian themes. In a Scorpio stellia ruled by an aggressive Mars in Scorpio (its own sign), Venus suffers from the force of Mars. This can be read as domestic violence at the natal level or ethnic cleansing at the mundane level.

The first theme matched Biden’s advocacy for domestic violence victims, culminating in passage of the 1994 Violence Against Women Act. His interest in domestic violence became a personal mission following the tragic 1989 Montreal spree shooting by Marc Lépine, which resulted in 14 women killed, 10 women wounded, and 4 men wounded. As I detail in A Rectification Manual, both events are linked by Ascendant–Sun solar arc and primary directions.

The second theme matches Biden’s role in the Bosnian conflict (1992-1995) through his position on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. His moral stance against genocide framed his advocacy for NATO airstrikes and the Dayton Accords which ended the war. Later as Vice President under Barack Obama, Biden was given the Iraq portfolio. While Bosnia and Iraq were different conflicts, the common astrological theme was ethnic and religious strife signified by Mars in Scorpio ruling Venus in Scorpio.

By house position, the Scorpio stellia appears in the 11th house, which is assigned to groups, alliances, friends, and political organizations. Committee assignments of House and Senate members often correspond to astrological significators of the 11th house.

The extreme levels of pain and suffering Biden encountered as a public servant, echoed by tragedies in his own life, left him with deep compassion for others experiencing loss. His drive to lift up suffering of others as a socially acceptable and morally worthy cause demonstrates the ability of Venus just past her superior conjunction to lift up her themes closer to God.

Timing the effects of Venus: 2000 Election Victory

By Firdaria, the Sun–Venus subperiod from April 25, 2019, to September 28, 2020, contained the COVID outbreak and the Democratic National Convention held August 17–20, 2020, when Biden was nominated for President. One of Biden’s assets was his empathy for Americans suffering during COVID, drawing on Venus in Scorpio as victor. For the average American voter, Biden’s compassion stood in stark contrast to President Donald Trump’s relatively cavalier handling of the COVID pandemic.

But Biden was not alone in his sympathy for Americans suffering during COVID. So why was he lifted up as Democratic Presidential nominee?

To date, my research supports the thesis that individual natal factors must be linked to mundane themes in order for individuals to be lifted up in the national consciousness. Simply put, individuals must meet the moment on a national scale. For Biden, it so happened that his natal Venus in Scorpio, as victor and activated as minor Firdaria ruler, was linked to national trends via the Regulus USA National Horoscope. Specifically, the active Distributor for the Moon was Venus in Scorpio for the period May 19, 2020, to November 2, 2024.

Immediately after this distribution began, the murder of George Floyd on May 25, 2020, ushered in revolts against police brutality, a general rage by oppressed individuals, and the launch of “cancel culture” designed to remedy historical oppression within the broader American society. Add to that the suffering caused by the pandemic. By the summer of 2020, Americans needed compassion - and found it in Biden who met the moment.

Bottom line: Biden was linked to the USA by the activation of Venus in Scorpio as time lord at both natal and mundane levels.

Venus no longer a time lord: Failed 2024 Presidential Campaign

Why was his 2024 Presidential re-election bid doomed? Without the need to analyze his physical and mental decline, the simplest answer is that Venus in Scorpio was no longer a time lord, either for Biden’s nativity or for the USA.

With the end of the pandemic, there was no further need for Biden’s role as Comforter-in-Chief. Venus in Scorpio as Distributor for the USA Moon ended on November 2, 2024, three days before the U.S. Presidential election on November 5, 2024. From a natal perspective, Biden’s 82nd birthday on November 20, 2024, marked the completion of Venus’ major 82-year cycle, which ended his lifetime role as Comforter-in-Chief.

This paper proposes a bold, falsifiable framework for testing mundane astrology through a detailed exploration of Abu Mashar’s System of Distributors and Partners, also referred to as ‘directing through the bounds.’ This system is a specialized application of primary directions applied to the Regulus USA National Horoscope (Ascendant 26° Sagittarius 54′40”). Drawing on Karl Popper’s philosophy of science, the author argues that astrology must generate predictions open to refutation to escape its reputation as pseudoscience. Among the many traditional techniques revived since the 1990s, directing the Ascendant through the bounds has shown particular promise for tracking long-term social trends in U.S. history.

The paper offers a multi-decade case study of how this predictive model performed, including public forecasts made in 2015 for the Mars/Virgo distribution (2017–2026). These forecasts correctly anticipated the decline of craft beer (confirmed by metrics like hops prices, stock performance, and media coverage), the rise of fitness wearables and hard seltzer, the launch of the Pentagon’s Project Maven, and an unexpected but successful push for resource extraction in the Alaskan Arctic, even under a Democratic administration.

The upcoming Saturn/Virgo distribution (2026–2028) is used to generate four new falsifiable predictions, including a significant disruption to Google’s business model, the decline of fitness trackers, curtailing of Project Maven, and the fall of trends linked to prior Venus-, Jupiter-, and Mars-in-Virgo periods (e.g., gambling, beer, makeovers, and wearable fitness tech). These forecasts are offered with precise conditions under which they would be considered falsified, adhering closely to Popperian standards.

The paper concludes with a reflection on the epistemological implications for astrology and a call for greater methodological rigor. By generating measurable, testable, and time-bound predictions, the author positions the Regulus USA National Horoscope as a viable model for assessing historical and future social trends — and for advancing the broader credibility of mundane astrology.

Mundane astrology is the branch of astrology that interprets celestial influences on world affairs, countries, and political events—rather than individuals. Among the tools employed by medieval astrology are Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions (“JSC”), used to predict the rise and fall of religions and dynasties (see Abu Ma’shar’s On Historical Astrology), and the Greatest Years of the Planets. It is the latter that is most relevant here.

The Greatest, or Maximum, Years of the planets are computed as the least common multiple of a planet’s synodic and sidereal orbital periods. They are:

• Saturn: 265 years

• Jupiter: 426 years

• Mars: 284 years

• Sun: 1461 years

• Venus: 1151 years

• Mercury: 461 years

• Moon: 520 years

All are measured in calendar years.

In theory, if a ruling planet can be assigned to a dynasty, then the duration of that planet’s Greatest Years predicts how long the dynasty will last. Given the long time periods involved, it is nearly impossible to test this theory directly. I have come across only two retrospective applications of this technique:

1. A fleeting reference by Abu Ma’shar to China’s Han Dynasty lasting Jupiter’s 426 Greatest Years (206 BCE to 220 CE).

2. Robert Zoller’s observation that the combined duration of the Roman Empire and its Byzantine successor closely matches the Sun’s 1461 Greatest Years (27 BCE to 1453 CE = 1480 years).

These examples are rare and, to my knowledge, there are no recorded advance predictions of the end of an empire based on this method by contemporary astrologers.

The Saturn Clock for the United States

In my Regulus USA National Horoscope (published 2008; chart data: July 4, 1776, 6:17:37 PM, LMT +5:00:40, Philadelphia, PA, 75°09′51″W, 39°57′08″N, ASC = 26° Sagittarius 54′40″), I assert that Saturn in Libra is the Victor of the Horoscope. Its significations include the rule of law and the U.S. Dollar.

Since the fall of empire and currency depreciation often go hand in hand, the value of the U.S. Dollar provides a way to test the application of the Greatest Years technique for the United States.

To do so, simply add Saturn’s 265 Greatest Years to 1776 CE, the USA’s birth year. The result is:

2041 CE

In plain terms: if Saturn is the ruling planet of the USA, and its 265 Greatest Years predict the nation's duration, then the United States should cease to exist after 2041. At or shortly before that time, the value of the U.S. Dollar and the rule of law should disintegrate.

This is the Mad Max scenario.

Four Theories for Mundane Astrologers to Know

My teacher Robert Zoller exhorted his students to read widely. Here are four additional theories that mundane astrologers should be aware of:

1. Thucydides Trap

Named for the Greek historian Thucydides, the “Thucydides Trap” refers to the pattern in which a rising power challenges an established hegemon, often leading to war. The concept comes from The History of the Peloponnesian War, which chronicles the conflict between Athens and Sparta.

The term was popularized by Harvard scholar Graham Allison in his 2017 book Destined for War: Can America and China Escape Thucydides’ Trap?

2. The Changing World Order

Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates, presents a quantitative model for the rise and fall of empires in his 2018 book The Changing World Order: Why Nations Succeed and Fail.

He tracks 15 key metrics—military strength, education, debt burden, reserve currency status, social civility, and more. Most of these indicators are declining for the USA and rising for China. Dalio warns that conflict over Taiwan could trigger a Thucydidean confrontation.

Dalio’s related book, Principles for Navigating Big Debt Crises (2018), is a three-volume study of sovereign debt burdens, offering crucial background for his broader civilizational model.

3. The Fourth Turning

This demographic model of social change was developed by William Strauss and Neil Howe in their 1991 book Generations: The History of America’s Future, 1584–2069. In 2023, Howe expanded on the concept in The Fourth Turning Is Here.

The theory is based on four generational cycles of ~21 years each, forming an 84-year cycle. While not explicitly astrological, this mirrors the 84-year synodic cycle of Uranus.

According to Canadian astrologer Nick Dagan Best, past Uranus in Gemini periods align with transformative American crises:

• 1775–1781: American Revolution

• 1858–1866: Civil War

• 1941–1949: World War II & Postwar Reordering

The next Uranus Gemini ingress occurs 2025–2033, which may again signal major systemic disruption.

4. Economic Confidence Model (ECM)

Martin Armstrong is an economic historian, investor, and forecaster. His ECM is based on a fixed time cycle of 8.6 years, or ~3,141 days—derived from π × 1000, sometimes called the Pi Model.

The ECM is fractal and scalable:

• Major Wave: 51.6 years (8.6 × 6)

• Civilization Wave: 309.6 years (51.6 × 6)

Armstrong’s model forecasts a civilizational peak at 2032.95 (December 12, 2032). He also links the ECM retrospectively to the peak of the Roman Empire under Marcus Aurelius in 175 CE.

Mad Max Timeline: 2032 to 2041

Here’s what’s striking:

• 2032.95 (Dec 12, 2032): Armstrong’s ECM peak

• July 20, 2041: Advances the ECM peak by another 8.6 year ECM increment. This is a relevant projection given episodes of significant currency debasement lasting 8.6 years during the fall of Rome according to Armstrong’s research.

• July 4, 2041: Saturn’s 265-year cycle completes from 1776

That places the adjusted ECM peak and the astrological end of the USA within less than three weeks of each other.

If Armstrong is correct, the years 2032–2041 are the most likely window for systemic collapse—a true Mad Max era for the United States.

Six Years Later Evaluating The 2015 Regulus USA Forecast

This report assesses predictions made in 2015 using the Regulus USA National Horoscope, a rectified version of the July 4, 1776 U.S. founding chart developed by Regulus Astrology. Central to the method is Abū Maʿshar’s System of Distributors and Partners, which tracks social trends through planetary primary directions and Egyptian bounds. The horoscope features an Ascendant degree of 26 Sagittarius 54’40”.

Between 2012–2017, the Ascendant Distributor was Jupiter in Virgo, associated with health trends, data analytics, and the craft beer boom. The prediction that craft beer would peak in 2016 and decline thereafter was partially confirmed: although total brewery counts continued rising, other metrics (barrels brewed, M&A activity, hops prices, media interest) all peaked or declined during the forecasted window.

Healthcare was also tied to Jupiter/Virgo, with the end of Affordable Care Act cost-sharing subsidies coinciding with the shift to the next distributor, Mars in Virgo, in April 2017.

From 2017–2026, Mars/Virgo became the Ascendant Distributor. Key predictions included:

• A shift from craft beer to hard seltzer and a boom in fitness metrics and wearables, both confirmed by market trends.

• A revival of U.S. military logistics, seen in Project Maven’s use of AI facial recognition for drone targeting.

• Renewed interest in hard rock mining and Arctic oil drilling, culminating in the Trump administration’s 2021 ANWR lease auctions.

• A failed prediction about Tough Mudder as a national fitness fad was offset by Peloton’s explosive growth during COVID-19 lockdowns.

The report also explored the Mars-Mars partnership period (2017–2021), predicting heightened political belligerence. Events like the end of DACA, Antifa protests, and growing partisan hostility confirmed the martial tone, though the report notes the risk of confirmation bias.

Overall, the study shows stronger predictive reliability when using Distributors for long-term social mood than Partners for specific event timing. The exercise demonstrates that even astrologically derived forecasts can generate meaningful, testable, and economically relevant insights—especially when linked to public metrics and real-world developments.

This research paper presents an empirical test of the Regulus USA National Horoscope, a rectified mundane chart for the United States with an Ascendant at 26° Sagittarius 54′40”, first introduced in America is Born (2008). The methodology is based on Abū Maʿshar’s System of Distributors and Participators, a specialized application of primary directions. Out-of-Sample Test 1: Venus/Virgo to Jupiter/Virgo Distributor Changeover (2012)

A key change in U.S. social mood occurred when the Distributor Venus/Virgo (1999–2012), associated with themes like personal makeovers, gambling, and pornography, changed to Jupiter/Virgo (2012–2017), linked with beer, spirits, and health care. The end of the Venus/Virgo period precisely coincided with the cancellation of Martha Stewart’s television show — a symbol of that era — confirming the ability of Ascendant Distributors to time changes in social mood.

Jupiter/Virgo’s influence was visible in the craft beer boom, confirmed by Google Trends and the explosive stock performance of companies like Constellation Brands (brewer of Corona) and Boston Beer Company (Sam Adams). Health care stocks also soared, aligning with Virgo’s modern association with medicine.

A formal prediction was made that the craft beer fad would peak in mid-2016, with declining popularity beginning in 2017 — marking the end of the Jupiter/Virgo period.

Out-of-Sample Test 2: Saturn Primary Directions to the Ascendant (2011, 2014)

Saturn, previously identified as the significator of the U.S. Dollar, had three directions to the Ascendant computed by converse motion. These predicted a strengthening dollar after each event. Both primary directions proved accurate: major lows in the U.S. Dollar Index occurred within three days of each direction. The accuracy of these measurements imlies proposed USA rectified birthtime is accurate to within a fraction of a single second of time.

The results also support the use of full planetary latitude in primary directions, a departure from some traditional practice, and affirm the legitimacy of using converse primary directions — an innovation not found in classical sources but justified by empirical accuracy.

Forecast: Mars/Virgo Distributor Period (2017–2026)

The paper concludes with a forward-looking forecast for the upcoming Mars/Virgo period beginning April 2017. Themes expected include:

• A shift from "beer bellies" to fitness fanaticism and gym culture.

• A surge in Tough Mudder-style mud races and extreme athletic events.

• A revival of military logistics and mining, including efforts to resume extraction in environmentally protected areas.

Drawing parallels from previous Mars-Mars periods in U.S. history — such as the Civil War, Mexican War, and early Reagan military resurgence — the forecast anticipates a more combative national mood.
