Iran Conflict: Relevant Directions
A Mars square Sun solar arc direction timed the USA bombing within 7 hours
I made no advance prediction of the Iran war. I have chosen to limit my out-of-sample predictions to those based on Abu Ma’shars System of Distributors and Participators applied to the Ascendant. So what follows is a ‘hindsight’ analysis of measurements. These comments were made on the Skyscript forum in response to another poster who suggested a progressed Moon opposed Mars aspect in the ASC/DSC axis square the MC degree is relevant based on the Hazelrigg version of the 4-Jul-1776 USA National Horoscope set for 12:10 PM.
Steve, the above Moon-Mars progressed opposition might be a better match to the people’s reaction to the war rather than the war itself. As the war was started by the President, I would expect to see measurements with the Sun involved as a better match to the war’s outbreak. Secondary progressions, while valuable, are generally lower on the predictive hierarchy compared to other predictive methods like time lord techniques, directions, and profections. I mention this because with enough tinkering many find it easy to justify events based on measurements found after the fact; the better exercise would be to predict the outbreak of war in advance.
Prompted by your post, here is what I found for the Regulus USA National Horoscope [ASC 26SA54’40” my rectification]. I want to point out that, like you, I did not predict this war in advance which limits the validity of my analysis below as well. My work on falsifiable advance predictions occurs in other threads in the mundane forum.

Comments. I use both solar arc and primary directions. I also use direct and converse methods. The direct solar arc Sun square Mars direction is accurate to within 7 hours for the war start. In my rectification research, I often find the pair of dates computed for the same direction, both direct and converse, form bookends to a series of events; or similar themed events. This means I am circling 27-Jul-2026 to watch.
In A Rectification Manual, I advocated the ‘Solar Arc – Primary Directions Hypothesis.’ This thesis states there are thematic links between the same planetary direction when computed by both solar arc and primary directions techniques. The solar arc tends to be more public in nature with the primary direction more personal, at least for natal astrology.
Applied to the question at hand, the same solar arc which timed the war’s outbreak also generated similar primary directions in 2001 and 2004. The first set of directions (marked REG for Regiomontanus interplanetary directions) bracketed the 11-Sep-2001 terror attack. This is unrelated to Iran specifically but thematically is another event of Islamic terror based on placement of the direction’s distributor in the bound of Mars/Pisces which I delineate as religious wars with suicide/martyrdom operations a primary theme. The second set of directions (marked PT for Ptolemy’s method of interplanetary directions) are a delineation match to increased investigations by the IAEA and concern by the international community over Iran’s nuclear program. The current saga dates to the 14-Aug-2002 disclosure of Iran’s uranium enrichment facility at Natanz and a heavy-water reactor at Arak. By 2004, the IAEA had made several trips with concerning findings. By early April 2004 questions about centrifuge procurement networks deepened and by 15-May-2004, within a day of the last primary direction listed above, Western intelligence assessments circulated indicating Iran may have conducted undeclared enrichment experiments beyond those previously admitted. In this case, I argue that second set of directions is thematically linked to the current solar arc direction because they both involve Iran’s nuclear program. The weakness of this linkage is that there are many such dates in Iran’s nuclear chronology, and the April/May-2004 dates may be cherry picking. Yet there was an unmistakable increase alarm by the international community over Iran’s nuclear program in early 2004.
Three other notes on primary directions. (1) The participating direction is the dexter square of Mars. Dexter aspects are considered more potent than sinister aspects. (2) The degree position of the dexter square of Mars is 21PI22, the same position as the directed Sun in the first direct solar arc computed for 27-Feb-2026. This shows the mathematical linkage. (3) On 29-Mar-2026 transiting Mars will occupy this same degree of the dexter square of Mars (21PI22) which is capable of intensifying the effect of the direction.
So, looking ahead, I am keeping my eye on 29-Mar-2026 and 27-Jul-2026 to see what unfolds.
